Summed up in 4 words- GO SEE THIS FILM!

I am obviously a horror fan or I wouldn’t be in this business, however in the past 5 years I think only Zombieland caught my attention enough to go see it in the theater. I think most modern horror is overdone and boring.

It took exactly 5 seconds to get the first screams from the audience, and by the end of the first scene everyone was clapping and whooping at the screen. It was that good. Gore was beyond buckets, more like the pools full. The reason for those people to even go to that cabin was modern and refreshing, and set the tone for the entire film.

You see a TON of Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell influence in this movie. From camera angles, to certain objects, to some of the F/X, you are constantly reminded who made these films. Make no mistake, every second of this movie I was waiting for Ash to make an appearance because that’s how much an homage this is to the original.

This is short for a review I know, but this movie isn’t even out yet. Go see it, and you’ll be itching for the sequel…Stay in your seat until after all the credits and you’ll know why!
